Used To Me

The Making of Used To Me

Not everyone deserves access to you — and learning that changes everything.

Halfway through making the deluxe, something felt off.

The project had direction, but it was missing a certain energy.

Then, out of nowhere, a producer from the Philippines named WavyAstro — who had worked with August before — reached out and sent a beat pack.

One of the beats stood out immediately.

It was titled “Could’ve Been You.”

August sent it to Nitty, and Nitty didn’t hesitate — he wanted it.

Astro adjusted the beat to fit them, and on March 25, 2026, the record came together.

August talks about outgrowing meaningless connections and realizing there’s more to life than temporary validation.
Nitty talks about protecting his energy and refusing to let people use him the way they once did.

LYRICS

[Hook – NittyGritty]

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

Please don’t abuse my heart

My love, kind of like a drug

And I ain’t want to go, save you

Yeah, I ain’t saving no one

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

[Verse – NittyGritty]

She just want a man to be the tab

Attitude and she got a ass

Mad to you so she slid to me ain’t no using me so I sent her back

She all in the club with a tight dress

Broke baby Daddy stress

Paying no mind to the ass she got cause the cash she want

But her life’s a messHell nah I won’t save you

Protect my heart with a badlock

Never let a bitch play you

Key advice from a Macawatch

Time flies when you don’t watch the clock

She ain’t Jenny she ain’t off the block

No plans she ain’t got a plot

Can’t sing but she dance alot

Baby this ain’t no club song, No drunk song

No Drizzy Drake, No love song

Might take you home to get fucked on

But then kick you out and my foot strong

And I ain’t one to get pushed on

No push over I stand my ground

I don’t need no one using me

Left me but she’ll come back round

[Hook – NittyGritty]

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

Please don’t abuse my heart

My love, kind of like a drug

And I ain’t want to go, save you

Yeah, I ain’t saving no one

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

[Verse – August Wild]

God made me so different that I can’t relate to myself sometimes

Feels like when I’m talkin to you I just talk to myself sometimes

In the club, but I need some time

Give me space and I’ll do my step

I’ll be going home by myself

I don’t wanna have pointless sex again

Not a

Nada

Not again, baby

I think I’m growing up cause I don’t do pretend baby

No, no not anymore, baby I’m done

It’s so much more to life than fucking these hoes that go as soon as I come

I hope you missing me like I’m missing you

You don’t understand what you put me through

I been goin through the old photographs while I’m in the club and they throwing ass

Like which one of yall wanna find love in the club?

Just keep doing what you’re doing but it won’t be enough

[Hook – NittyGritty]

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

Please don’t abuse my heart

My love, kind of like a drug

And I ain’t want to go, save you

Yeah, I ain’t saving no one

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me

It takes time to get used to me

And I don’t need no one using me
